What is Week of Direct Action All About?
The world of politics can be intimidating to get a start in, but it is important, now more than ever. Engagement and Action are crucial to the health of our democracy, and key pillars of a strong civil society.This week is geared towards providing information and tools to getting engaged with our community and the world! Through discussions with representatives, organizations and nonprofits from our community, we hope to inspire you to take action for the issues you are passionate about!

Community Fair in VU MPR
Come speak with 20+ different nonprofits and organization from throughout Whatcom County that are dedicated to our community! There is something for everyone, with organizations focused on a wide variety of topics as well as businesses like The Pickford and Co-Op!

What ways do you think would be most effective for YOU to become more politically engaged? How can you turn your passion into real action?joining a club, signing up for news emails or alerts, running for a elected position, attending a council meeting, taking a class...How can you maintain that passion and drive for change?...find alternative outlets (like poster or zine making), find and build relationships and collectives that have similar passions to support each other, stay tuned in despite the worry or fear- it’s worth it!
